The day before the New ‘n’ Tasty E3 announcements started rolling in, Lorne Lanning couldn’t resist dropping a teaser for another Oddworld project: Stranger’s Wrath will be coming to mobile phones.
Lanning showed an early version of the game running on an iPhone to TheSixthAxis.com, who commented that it was unfinished but “very playable”. The mobile port uses the original Xbox assets, but some assets from the HD version may make their way into the final version. Although the version demoed was running on an iPhone, Lanning also mentioned Android support, and that controller pairing should also be possible.
The port is being handled by Square One Games, as the Just Add Water team currently have their hands full with other projects.
Encouragingly, the demo was originally menat to be “off-the-record”, but the team are so proud of the project as it stands that they were willing to allow TheSixthAxis to publish the news.

Hey, remember the Abe Speak iPhone app that was announced? Oddworld Inhabitants definitely do, as close to two years after the initial announcement the developer has posted a new photograph of it running.
The latest build is described in a Twitter post as only having “small bugs left”, and although the studio says that there is currently no specific timetable, it’s quite possible the app will be releasing in the near future – especially after the attention the Oddworld Portal app garnered.
This is also the first confirmation that the app would run on an iPad – the original announcement only ever specified iOS, with preview photos showing off the iPhone version.

Oddworld Inhabitants have released an iOS app for Oddworld fans. The app functions as a mobile-friendly version of the Oddworld.com website, including areas such as the blog, downloads page, Alf’s Rehab and Tea, games information, developer diaries and the official Oddworld Twitter feed.
You can grab it now for free via the iTunes store.
It’s only available for iPhone at the moment, but official word is that an Android version is in the works and that an iPad version may also surface.

Stewart Gilray, CEO of Just Add Water recently announced that they were planning to release four projects this year. Stranger’s Warth‘s remastering is confirmed to be one of those four projects. On the other hand, Abe’s Oddysee HD isn’t one of those projects as JAW is aiming for a 2012 release. Shortly thereafter Stewart shared two pictures of Abe Speak (1 & 2) and revealed it is going to be a free app for the iOS. No mention of an Android version yet or when it will be released.
