Mudombies were restless spirits that Abe was intended to meet on his journey through Necrum. The artbook refers to them as "hulking, idiot, zombie Mudokons", who "drag one foot" similar to a stereotypical mummy[1]. It would have been Abe's job to lead them back to their graves to continue their eternal rest.
