Imagine a shark that can climb trees with it’s six foot
tongue and you’re about halfway to a Fleech. You’ll hear them before you see them, and their keening cry will
freeze the blood in your veins. For two-headed worms, they move pretty fast and if you have the misfortune to
find one that’s awake, its tongue is probably already pulling you into its maw.
Originally created in Vykkers Labs to be the perfect disposable pet, Fleeches are cute as babies then mature into
bloodthirsty monsters. Those wacky Vykkers scientists accidentally created the world’s longest tongues, which they
first thought would be perfect for cleaning those hard-to-reach places. Glukkons loved them but test markets showed
Fleeches preferred biting to cleanliness, and unfortunately developed a taste for their Glukkon owners as they grew.
Fleeches are still sold as pets. As in “Old Yeller”, young Glukkons are encouraged “Flush their own Fleech” when
their pet turns deadly. Routinely flushed down toilets throughout Oddworld, they wind up wherever the sewer takes
them. Fleeches can be found in the marshes, lakes, sewers and forests of Oddworld. They like to hang out in areas
where Mudokons might stop by.
