New page

Summary
A concept painting by Lorne Lanning exploring imagery for a hypothetical Oddworld film. It was first released by OddBlog in November 2007.

The painting depicts two figures holding bright yellow burning torches, silhouetted against a much larger natural stone wall covered in rockart. The figure on the right strongly resembles Abe, while the figure on the left is shorter (only coming up to Abe's chin) and has a much broader body with no discernible neck. The floor on which these figures are stood is mostly flat but with large fissures, and slopes upwards on either side.

The rockart most prominently features a large, central figure with horns coming out of its head and shoulders, defined by negative space within a bubble or field of some kind, which is possibly emitting small forks of energy. Above the central figure is a row of smaller figures, those on the top-right of the wall having horns, and some of which are holding their hand upwards. Either side of the central figure are many red hand stencils, some pointed upwards and others pointed inwards. Underneath the central figure is a row of creatures of various designs, all facing inwards. In the bottom-right of the wall are more unhorned, horned and hand-raising figures.
