Oddworld Inhabitants was founded in 1994 by special effects and computer animation veterans Sherry McKenna and Lorne Lanning.

Oddworld games have sold over 4.2 million units and climbing.

Oddworld has received over 100 awards including honors from illustration fantasy annuals, international film festivals, and the music industry.

Abe and Oddworld have been featured on over 50 magazine covers around the world including Wired, GameFan, Electronic Gaming Monthly, Game Informer and Computer Gaming World.


The short film version of Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus¨ enjoyed a theatrical release in Los Angeles and was submitted for Oscar consideration to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences in 1998.


Oddworld has also co-produced two music video singles; both based upon the Oddworld Universe.

"Get Freaky" by German rap group Music Instructor was a Number 1 hit on the European charts and the single went platinum in 1999.

"Use Yur Imagination" by German rap group E-Pac featuring Jean Beauvoir was released in Europe May 2002 and featured 100% Oddworld CG in the music video.


The Oddworld Quintology is a series of five main games detailing the Oddworld Saga. Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee¨ was the first game of the quintology and Oddworld: Munch's Oddyseeª is the second. Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus¨ is an extra title that followed Abe's Oddysee.

Mudos is the main continent on the planet of Oddworld.

GameSpeak¨ is an original Oddworld feature challenging the player to communicate with other characters.

A.L.I.V.E. Aware Lifeforms in Virtual Entertainment¨- The Alive¨2 engine is introduced in Oddworld: Munch's Oddyseeª and features second generation technology, allowing even more life-like Inhabitants who eat, sleep, and work all in realtime 3D.

There are over 2 dozen fansites dedicated to the Oddworld Universe. Our games have been a hit with established gamers and non-gamers alike including women around the world. From Japan to Norway our fanbase ranges from 4 to 76 years old.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee¨ is the first game in the Oddworld Quintology. Published by GT Interactive for the PlayStation and PC in the U.S., Europe, and Australia, Abe made his debut in September 1997. The Japanese version, "Abe A GoGo" was published by SoftBank. Abe's Oddysee features approx. 16 minutes of FMV.

Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus¨ was also published by GT Interactive in the U.S., Europe and Australia for PlayStation and PC in November 1998. '

Oddworld: Munch's Oddyseeª is an exclusive first party launch title for the Xbox. It made it's debut in the U.S. on November 2001. Europe and Australia saw Munch in March 2002. There is no PC version of Munch.

The next three Oddworld titles will be exclusive to the Xbox.

Oddworld has licensed GameBoy to produce games based on Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exoddus and Munch's Oddysee.
