Nod
Nod was rumoured to be the name of the fourth hero in the Oddworld Quintology for years before Lorne Lanning confirmed that it is not. Following the naming convention of other games in the Quintology, Nod was thought to have been introduced and starred in Oddworld: Nod's Oddysee.
The rumour did not specify anything about the character of Nod nor the story of Nod's Oddysee. To date, no details of the fourth chapter of the Quintology have not been published.
Origin
The rumour was initiated by Oddworld fan Wil Bunce-Edwards, whose nickname of ‘The Oddworld Encyclopedia’ and reputation for Oddworld knowledge and trivia meant his claim gained some traction. He alleges that the name came from an interview with an employee of Oddworld Inhabitants from around that he has not been able to find again.[1]
When Wil asked members of the Exoddus Club in if they'd heard of Nod, member George_T_Gimp said he thought he could also remember Nod being named in an interview.[1][2] Abe Babe also thought she knew where Wil might have seen the information, while admitting to not being certain.[3]

Having heard the rumour from Wil on the Exoddus Club, Abe Babe added it to the ‘Rumors’ page of Odworld-Web,[4][5] after which Nod was first mentioned on the Oddworld Forums by Lantra on .[6]
The name was added to the Wikipedia article on Oddworld on [7] and wasn't removed until [8] (although it was briefly added again on [9] for just [10]).
Disproof
In an interview with Russian gaming magazine Игромания (GameMania) dated , Lorne Lanning responded to a question about cancelled titles by explicitly saying Oddworld: Nod's Oddysee had never been a project and was probably a rumour.[11]

News of this interview did not reach members of the Oddworld Forums until member MeechShrykull1029 posted a link to the online copy of the interview on 25 April 2008.[12]
On 22 July 2010, the ‘Nod’ page on the Oddworld Wiki was removed by administrator Radical Edward2 with the comment ‘Marked for deletion: Nod was confirmed but there is little to no information on the project.’
