In Loving Memory Of
Uncredited
A number of individuals who worked for Oddworld Inhabitants during the development of Oddworld: Soulstorm were not included in the game's credits. The most outspoken of these has been Eiden Alexander, who worked as a game and level designer on Soulstorm for a year starting from .[5][6][7] He tweeted on the day of Soulstorm's release pointing out his exclusion from the credits, and his tweet received 25 direct replies, 15 retweets, 7 quote tweets and 62 likes,[6] including direct replies from Oddworld fans Nemin[8] and Crashpunk,[9], and former Just Add Water developer Liam Jones.[10] Alexander clarified that while some of his colleagues from Axis Game Factory had been given Special Thanks in the credits, others—including Tobin Russell[11] and the company itself—had not.[12][13]
The next morning, Alexander received an email from Oddworld Inhabitants informing him that they would try to add him to the credits in an upcoming patch. Alexander was added to the Special Thanks list in Soulstorm's 1.13 patch, although the company Axis Game Factory had not been added, nor had any of his other previously uncredited colleagues, and his colleagues credited with Special Thanks had not been given roles in the credits.[13][2] According to Alexander, he has been informed that a list of his colleagues to be credited has been delivered to Oddworld Inhabitants,[13] although they have not yet been added to Soulstorm's credits.[14]
Another person who worked for Oddworld Inhabitants during the development of Oddworld: Soulstorm but hasn't appeared in the credits was Freelance Community Manager Ellie ‘elliejoypanic’.[15]
Notes
- ↑ Prior to Soulstorm's 1.13 patch, James Stephanie Sterling's name was given in the in-game credits video as ‘Jim Stirling’. Sterling tweeted pointing out the misspelling.
- ↑ Siân Knight's name is given in the in-game credits video as ‘Sian Knight’ without the accent. Her accented name is taken from her ArtStation.
- ↑ The role ‘Engineers’ was added some time after Soulstorm's 1.13 patch. Previously, Craig Murray and Brian Lloyd had no role above their names.
- ↑ Prior to Soulstorm's 1.13 patch, Streamline Media Group, Inc was given in the in-game credits video inside double quotation marks.
- ↑ Ashley Hackett's name was previously given as ‘Ashley Hacket’ with a single ‘t’ at the end.
- ↑ Joe Benny's LinkedIn profile gives his role at Oddworld Inhabitants as ‘Sound Designer, Music Composer’.
- ↑ Prior to Soulstorm's 1.13 patch, Xioa'an Li's name was given in the in-game credits video as ‘Xioa an Li’ without the apostrophe.
- ↑ Bernny Mwamba's name was added to the credits in Soulstorm's 1.13 patch.
- ↑ Alan Yeats was previously listed without a role under Big Boat Engineers, beneath Craig Murray and Brian Lloyd. Pocket Sized Hands was not in the credits until some time after Soulstorm's 1.13 patch, when Yeats was moved to that company any given the role of ‘Engineering’.
- ↑ Eiden Alexander's name was added to the in-game credits video with Soulstorm's 1.13 patch. Prior to this, he had tweeted that he had been excluded from the game's credits. See ‘Uncredited’ above.
- ↑ Prior to Soulstorm's 1.13 patch, Raphaël Mercier Leclerc's name was given in the in-game credits video as ‘Rapha l Mercier Leclerc’ with the ‘ë’ not rendered.

Excited to announce that I've been contracted to work on Oddworld: Soulstorm as a level designer! It's been a little under a month and I'm already having a blast working on the game.//https://youtu.be/6wJAdfTJZUQ//#gamedesign #gamedev

Imagine getting ur name removed from the game credits after being a designer on it for a year & having ur peers shoved into a long Special Thanks list. Would be extra ironic if a theme of the game was shoddy treatment of workers by corpos.//Happy Launch Day!/#OddworldSoulstorm

@Eiden_Alexander Hey, after how rotten I was treated there I am not surprised I too was omitted. I feel like they worked really hard to prevent me from doing what I do best. Crazy times!

@TheMadJunkie I would consider that if my dev team wasn't just put into the special thanks section (the ones who did make it into the credits - I wasn't the only one cut) with no title or mention of the devteam name. We were on it for a year and the work can be seen in the trailers. 🙃 Sucks.
