12th Annual Oddworld Forums Poster Awards

The 12th Annual Oddworld Forums Poster Awards were the twelfth in the series of semi-annual member awards on the Oddworld Forums that have continued to the present.[1] They were the final Awards to be hosted by STM, who opened voting on in 30 categories.[2] Sixteen members voted in the Awards, the lowest voter turnout since the 2nd Awards. The results of voting were posted on .[3]

The 12th Awards took place two years after the 11th Awards, the second of three times that the Awards have skipped a year. STM worked with Phylum in early 2015 to create the Awards at their regular time, using Skype to record audio,[4][5] but Phylum was unable to complete the audio due to his pre-university work and his health.[6][7]

Categories

One category, ‘Best Writer’, was retired having previously been used in all 11 previous Awards, since their inception. This was only the fourth recurring category to be retired. Two new categories were added, although both ended up being one-off categories.

Awarded to the member thought to have endured the most on the Oddworld Forums

The category ‘Best New Comer’ was fully renamed to ‘Best Newcomer’, having had the new spelling in the results thread only for the 11th Awards. Like in the 11th Awards, two categories had different names between the voting and results threads.

Due to the host of Annual Oddworld Forums Poster Awards changing several times in subsequent years, with resulting changes to their category lineups, several reccuring categories were used for the final time in the 12th Awards. All of these had been used in all 12 Awards up to this point, since their inception, with the exception of ‘Best Blogger’ which began in the 7th Awards.

This was also the final year that the ‘Best Artist’ category was divided into ‘Oddworld’ and ‘Non-Oddworld’ categories.
